Marie Theresa Rutten (Kelly) a resident of Laguna Woods, California and former resident of Yucaipa, California passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017 at her home at the age of 88 with family at her side.

Marie was born on February 16, 1928, the daughter of Mack (Martin James) and Ellen Bridget Kelly (Culhane).She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Gerald Rutten, her brothers Kevin and James Kelly and her sister Noreen Martinson.

Marie was originally from Renfrew Ontario Canada.She studied at St. Michaels School of Nursing in Toronto Canada graduating as a Registered Nurse in the winter class of 1950.After leaving Toronto she moved to Los Angeles and worked at Queen of Angels Hospital, to New York and Roosevelt Hospital and back to Los Angeles at Good Samaritan where she met her husband Gerald of 49 years.After they married they moved to Yucaipa to start a family and practice medicine.

Marie is survived by her four children: Susan (Joe), Mark, Konrad and Dee Dee and two grandsons Grant and Troy.

A private family Mass will be held at Saint Catharine's of Sienna Parrish in Laguna Beach on March 9th and internment at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCormick and Sons Mortuary of Laguna for tributes and information: mccormickandson.com .
