Marie S. Tucci, a longtime resident of Malden, MA passed away on September 22nd in Lake Forest, CA. Marie was born in Boston on Christmas Eve in1935, the only child of Henry and Grace Sacco. Her mom passed away when she was 13, and she was left caring for her dad, while being cared for by her two aunts. She was raised in Medford. MA and graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1953. Shortly after high school she began working at Woolworth's, as an executive secretary to the President.
In March of 1958, she married here sweetheart whom she met at age 14, Richard P. Tucci. The two first settled down in Medford where they lived until 1964, when they relocated to Malden, MA and raised their son Robert. She was a longtime cafeteria worker at the Forestdale Elementary School, followed by Malden High School, from 1970 until 1982. Marie was a very good cook who enjoyed decorating, and loved entertaining her extended family, friends, and neighbors. She also enjoyed watching her son play in various sporting events. She was always kind, sweet, and thoughtful to anyone and everyone, who were fortunate enough to come in contact with her.
She is survived by her son Robert Tucci and his wife Clare in Aliso Viejo, CA, her sister in law, Ethel Tucci of Medford, MA, her nephews, Lawrence Tucci and Michael Tucci, and her nieces, Laura Farrell and Michelle Parsons. She is also the great aunt of 10 and great, great aunt of 5.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Richard P. Tucci.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, MA. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 15, from 2 - 4PM. On Monday, October 16 a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St, Malden is set for 9AM. Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
