MARILYN LOIS AGGLETON passed away peacefully at Mission Viejo Hospital on Monday, October 14, 2013, at age 66 following complications during a routine medical procedure.

Marilyn was born in The Bronx, NY, in March 1947 and grew up there and in Mount Vernon, NY, with her parents Robert and Fay and her brother Lenny. She married Dave Aggleton in 1978 in Elmsford, NY, and together they brought up two wonderful sons, Derek and Matthew, in Ossining, NY, 35 miles north of NYC on the Hudson River.

Marilyn had an incredible eye for color and became an avid quilter. In addition to filling her home with beautiful quilts, she custom-designed them for her sons and for any friend or relative who had a baby. She also loved to play bridge. Through quilt and bridge groups she made many lasting friendships in New York and California. Despite many medical problems that extended from her early childhood, she took great joy in family and friends. As one friend said recently, if she walked into a room as a stranger, she would leave with at least two friends.

In February 2013 Marilyn and Dave moved to the wonderful Palmia community in Mission Viejo, CA, to be closer to Matthew and with the anticipation that Derek and his wife would move westward in the near future. She loved the community and made many new friends.

A private cremation is to be held on Friday, October 18.
