Marilyn Lavonne Bowbeer,born Feb.15 1928, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning August 25 in her Laguna Woods home.Born to Ira and Mildred Benton in Lincoln Nebr. She has two siblings, Marvin Benton (passed) and Mildred Anna Thompson (passed). Marilyn moved to California in 1938 with her parents and siblings,where she met the love of her live, Wayne Bowbeer, (passed) a friend of her older brother Marvin. After the war they were married in 1946 and had 5 children, Karen, Janis,Douglas, William (Margie),and George (Marina).
She worked for a short time for Pacific Bell and then singing professionally for many years at memorial services at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Marilyn also enjoyed singing in the Whittier Women's choir, the Capistrano Chorale and the Lutheran Church of the Cross choir, and performing musical programs with her dear friend Ruthie Graham. She is survived by her 5 children, 8 grandchildren, Gabriel, Nathan, Cambria, Jason, Meghan, Patrick, Michelle, and William.,and 3 great grandchildren,Presley, James,and Isabela.
Marilyn's greatest pleasure in life was the 69 years with Wayne, followed by her children, and spending time and talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time and talking about her great grand daughter, Presley. She brought out the sparkle in her eyes.
She enjoyed watching sports and attended as many Angel's games and Lawn bowliing matches as she was able . Watching the Angel's play on TV gave her a great deal of pleasure.
Marilyn enjoyed many camping trips to Huntington Lake in the High Sierras and Rosarita beach in Mexico. She enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, and visits to Europe, and cruises along the California coast and the Caribbean Islands.
Marilyn loved the time spent with friends and family. She was very generous and would give to many philanthropic and patriotic charities. She would give you her unlimited time which is priceless.
The family would like to thank Lita and Cheryl, the wonderful caregivers from Live Life at Home, and Connie from Oasis Hospice for providing compassionate and loving care in her last year.
Public viewing and visitation will be held on Sun. Sept 1 from 12 PM to 2 PM at McCormick and Son mortuary 25000 Moulton parkway, Laguna Woods.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park on Wed. Sept. 4 at 1 PM.
A Memorial celebration will be held on October 7th at 1 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Woods.
