Mark Allan Rutten, born August 17, 1960 in Redlands, California, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in his Laguna Woods home. Mark is survived by his three siblings, Dee Dee Rutten of Yucaipa, Konrad Rutten of Laguna Niguel, Susan Rutten Thomas of Laguna Beach and her husband Joe and two children, Grant and Troy.Mark is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gerald Rutten, (2005) and his mother, Marie, (2017).
Mark attended Yucaipa High School and Loyola Marymount University where he earned a degree in business administration. Most of Mark's career, he served as a property manager for Redlands Medical Center and subsequently Redlands Community Hospital.He relocated to Laguna Woods in 2015 to help care for his ailing mother.
An avid reader, Mark enjoyed books about history, going to movies and sporting events. He was a doting uncle and enjoyed attending any activity involving his two nephews.Mark was a kind, gentle soul who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Temple Terrace Drive, Laguna Beach, California. A reception will follow at the Thomas home, details to follow at the service.
