Obituary

Marnie Bea Gray, 53 passed away on Monday June 23, 2025 from complications due to Endometrial and Liver cancer. Marnie was born March 14, 1972 in Great Falls MT to Joan (Sisson) Gray and William Gray. Marnie is lovingly survived by her husband Jack Malisani, two daughters; Madelyn and Juliana, brother Michael Gray, dad William Gray, "Grandma" Sharon Tool, her cousin Dana (Jesse) Orsini, Aunt Charlotte Gray, Aunt Mary Jo Ecker, sister-in-law Rose Malisani, mother-in-law Cindy Malisani and numerous Cousins.

Marnie was reunited with her Mother Joan Gray, Grandmother & Grandfather Jim and Marna Sisson, Grandmother & Grandfather Emil "Chappie" and Beatrice Gray, Uncle Gary Gray, Aunt Mary and Uncle Len Brozkiewicz and Father-in-Law Robert Malisani who preceded her in death.

Marnie grew up in Montana, New Mexico, Colorado and Indiana. She moved with her mom to Indiana for middle & high school where she met best friends Aeri (Kwak) Jung and Dana (Adich) Shulock. She was close with her Aunt Mary and cousin Dana whom she mentored. She moved to California for college and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Long Beach in 1994. She received a double master's degree from Chapman University in 1998 where she met lifelong friends Greg and Lisa Endelman and discovered her drive and love for helping others.

Marnie met her husband in Montana where she spent many summers with her loving Grandma Marna, Grandpa Jim, and friend Lyn Walker. She enjoyed playing canasta, floating the creek and spending time with friends and family. Jack and Marnie were married in Lewistown, Montana, surrounded by many friends and family. Marnie enjoyed skiing, hiking, "tubing" spring creek, spending holidays in Arizona and Montana with her family.

She was a School Psychologist for the Orange Unified School District and worked for many years to help countless children and was loved by many. She enjoyed hosting family and friend get-togethers and was the life of the party. Her greatest joy came with the birth of her two daughters, Maddi and Juli, who brought so much love into her life. She loved watching them in the theater/choir, playing soccer and volleyball, and excelling in academics. She became close with Gina Erickson who supported the family.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday July 30th at McCormick & Son in Laguna Hills, Ca, the funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 1st at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine, CA. With a reception to follow the funeral.
