Mary Dorcus Powel was born on March 25, 1928 in Phoenix, AZ to parents Margaret and Howard Buroker.Mary passed away on February 21, 2017 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital in Laguna Hills.

She worked for Sears during the 1960's and 1970's, was the registrar at Melodyland High School in Anaheim, CA until 1987.Then she went to work for Trinity Broadcasting, the world's largest Christian television network, in Costa Mesa, CA as a secretary until she retired at age 78.

She enjoyed camping, water skiing, and fishing with her young family around Lake Shasta and Big Bear Lake and in later years she would read, garden in her patio, and loved spending time with her family.She also loved going to tea with her girls.

Her parents preceded her in death.She was an only child. She is survived by three children; Lucinda, Charles, and Melinda, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

There will be a family memorial service at McCormick & Son Mortuary in Laguna Hills, CA on Saturday March 4th.Her family will have a paddle out from Dana Point Harbor, CA to bury her ashes at sea in the future.
