Michael David Matthews was born on May 6, 1947 and passed away on November 29, 2019 at the age of 72 in Mission Viejo, CA. He is survived by his children: Michael and Christine; son-in-law Erick; daughter-in-law: Lai; brother: Chris; grandchildren: Michael, Noelle, Alia, Arial, Kayla, Kourtney, Aciano, and Karson; great grandchildren – Rayna Lynn and Alexander Gage; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him.

Michael was born in Canton, Ohio to his parents, Reginald and Veta Matthews. In 1971, he married his wife, Barbara Matthews. Michael grew up in Canton, Ohio, and later lived in West Covina, Covina, Azusa, and Arcadia CA. He was a recent resident of Laguna Hills, CA.

Michael enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, lively discussions with family and friends, and spending time with his loved ones. He was an avid watcher of college football, especially his most beloved teams, USC and Ohio State. He was a treasured friend and neighbor. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
