Ms. Monica Denise Hicks received her wings on May 15, 2020 at the age of 58. Monica was born to Richard and Elexzine Hicks in Nashville, TN and raised in Carson, CA. Monica was the middle child of 5 children. The majority of memories made and formed for Monica were in Carson, CA where Monica at the age of 26 bore her one and only child Bel-Ayre. After years spent in the city Monica moved to Orange County, CA where much of her adulthood and motherhood took place.

Monica was a free spirit yet very reserved. She enjoyed the finer yet simple things of life. Spending much time as a student Monica enjoyed learning and being a mother able to teach from her life and educational lessons.

Monica was a survivor as she spent majority of her later years doing. Diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis she spent the last 12 years surviving. In 2018 Monica was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer which she also survived.

Monica will be remembered most from the laughs she shared and the laughs she provided.

Monica was proceeded in death by her mother and father and little brother Edric Hicks. In Monica's legacy she leaves behind her daughter Bel-Ayre, son-in law Justyn,grandkids (4); P'Aire Williams, Justyn II, Harlei, and Baby Robbins. She also leaves behind an abundance of family both given and personally hand picked.
