Monte Howard Barnes, age 76, formerly of Dinuba, California went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Monte was a graduate of Dinuba High School in 1959. An extremely accomplished carpenter he was gifted with the skill to design and construct anything in wood --- from outdoor fencing to interior cabinetry. He was a true artesian with a saw, hammer and a nail. Monte loved dogs and growing up his family raised Boxers. He was an entrepreneur in his young adult years, working with his parents in their fencing company. He moved with his young family to the Southern California area in the late 1960's; first to Long Beach and finally settling in Laguna Hills before retiring as a Building Inspector for Regents Point in 2006. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. He was the star pitcher on his high school team and even pitched against Mickey Mantle and struck him out three times. Preceded in death by his parents Max and Ethel Barnes and his sister, Maxine Chester, he is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 57 years Nancy Pullman Barnes; son Allen Barnes and his wife Heidi, 2 grandsons Jake and Grant; daughter Laurie Barnes; and nephews and nieces.
