IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nahoko
Yamasaki
December 23, 1967 – November 27, 2023
Nahoko Yamasaki was born in New York on December 23, 1967. She passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Arcadia hospital (let's save the math, she was almost 56).
She was battling cancer for a year and a half, and the last six month were very hard for her, despite a great medical team. She is at peace now, wherever she is.
Her parents and brother live in Japan, she was visiting them once a year before the freaking pandemic and cancer.
She grew up in Japan, studied in Fukuoka and Tokyo, also studied overseas in Canada and the US, where she met great friends. She worked in marketing for HP at Tokyo then moved near Palo Alto. She met her French husband Nicolas there during a hiking trip on Angel Island, and married him 4 months later in San Francisco. Right after they moved to France for 9 years, also stayed in Nagoya, Japan for 1 year, and finally moved back to the US in Michigan in 2015. They were lucky to meet an amazing group of friends there, but winter was definitely too cold and they moved to California in 2021.
She loved cooking, camping and hiking, but most of all she loved being surrounded by international folks. She would have loved fixing the new house in Mission Viejo (well at least the paint job), like she did during their time in France. She was cute and liked cute stuff: squirrels and hummingbirds. She was supporting Save the Children for a very long time.
Services will be held Friday, December 1rst, 2pm at 1795 Laguna Canyon road in Laguna Beach.
