Nancy Z. Kennedy passed away on March 30, 2025. She was 91years old. Born on January 22, 1934 in Palo Alto, California she was the youngest daughter of Captain and Mrs. Walter E. Zimmerman. As the daughter of a naval officer she moved frequently and lived in California, Ohio, New Jersey, Florida and Lima Peru. She graduated from Toms River High School in New Jersey and attended Marjorie Webster Junior College and Katherine Gibbs before working for Columbia Broadcasting System in New York City.

She met the love of her life, Don Kennedy while he was a Midshipman at the Naval Academy. After graduation in June of 1956 they were married later that year on December 29, 1956 in Montclair, New Jersey. For the next five years she was a Navy wife living in Georgia, Florida and Maryland and then an IBM wife moving from Maryland to Ohio, New Jersey and finally to California. While handling all of this, she had three beautiful children; Don Elliott Jr., Katherine Dorothy and Suzanne Jane. In addition she had a very successful real estate career while living in New Jersey as well as being a very loving mother. The next move was to California and then started the chance to become a grandmother and enjoy watching each of her nine grandchildren grow from birth and go on to college. While spending half time in Hilton Head and half in California she was able to become both a doting grandmother to each of the nine as well as enjoy old friendships and play a little golf in Hilton Head. She was always a friend to everyone she met but first of all a loving grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Don of 68 years, their children Don Jr. (Suzanne), Katherine Curtis (Donald), Suzanne Neuhaus (Jay) and nine grandchildren Taylor (Marley), Hunter (Mary), Jennifer, Julia, Lily, Bret, Brock, Sam, Don III and two great grandchildren Milo and Owen. She was predeceased by her sister Jane Z. Plimpton.

There will be a Celebration of Life in the Chapel at Mariners Church in Irvine, CA. on May 12, 2025.

She will be interred at the Naval Academy columbarium at a later date.
