Burial
Nicolette MacDonald passed from this life into eternal peace on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Newport Beach, California. She was surrounded by family and love.
Nicolette is survived by her beloved husband, Mark; her son, Seth (Amanda Moran); and her siblings, Stephanie Trujillo, Valerie Pappas, Barbara Trujillo, Phillip Vance, Bill Vance, Julie Montague-Reiss, and Benjamin Calhoun. She also leaves behind her sisters- and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Los Angeles in 1957, Nicolette met her husband Mark in 1981 in Costa Mesa while they were both working at Allied Lighting. They were married on May 19, 1991, and soon welcomed their son, Seth, on August 19, 1992. She spent most of her 68 years in South Orange County, building a life centered on family and community.
Nicolette worked in the lighting industry for 45 years, with Mark by her side. Together, they owned a lighting showroom, where they built not only a successful business, but also lasting friendships with colleagues and clients who became like family.
Nicolette’s favorite place was wherever her family was. She found immense joy in being with them and made sure they always felt her love. One of her greatest expressions of that love was through giving; her generosity knew no bounds. If her family was happy, she was happy. She was a devoted and proud mother who would do anything for her son, Seth. On any given day, she could be found driving along PCH, windows down, listening to her favorite music, one of her greatest passions.
In keeping with her caring spirit, Nicolette was a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Children’s Hospital.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory be eternal.
