IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Kos
Walker
April 5, 1949 – February 22, 2026
Pamela Kos Walker of Irvine, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. She was born April 5, 1949, to the late Frank Kos Sr. and the late Beulah Mae Hargis Kos in Bad Wildungen, Germany, where her father was stationed with the US Army. She met the love of her life, James Henry Walker III of Wilmington, Delaware, while they were students at the University of Tennessee. They married June 28, 1969, in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, embarking on an adventure of love, loyalty, and laughter for 46 wonderful years until his passing in 2013 from colon cancer. Pam was preceded in death also by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Frank Kos Jr. and Ratamanee Kos; her sister, Patricia Kos Cooke; and her sister-in-law, Ann Walker Buchanan.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters and two sons-in-law: Diana Walker Funderburke (Chris) of Bowdon, Georgia, Carrie Walker Dumm (Joe) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Donna Marie Walker of Irvine, California; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Patricia Kos, of Woodstock, Georgia; her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Kos Hess of Columbia, South Carolina; her brother-in-law, Tony Cooke, of Walland, Tennessee; her three beloved grandchildren, Jacob Lee Funderburke, Timothy James Dumm, and Allyson Morgan Dumm; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Pam will be remembered for her love of the beach and the beautiful scenery of the outdoors, as well as for her radiant optimism. Her gift for finding silver linings and seeing the best in people earned her the nickname Pollyanna. She lived that spirit each day, treating all with compassion, welcoming everyone, and wanting the same for the world. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends to share love, laughter, and kindness, especially over puzzles, games, and tiki drinks. She also had a deep fondness for, and bottomless knowledge of, classic films and television, delighting in the timeless storytelling and cinematic craft of Hollywood’s golden era. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she cultivated, the laughter she cherished, and the unwavering love she gave so fully.
A service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date, where she will be interred with her late husband in the Columbarium Court 9.
