Life is eternal, Love is immortal
Death is only a horizon
A horizon that is nothing but the limit of our sight
While his death leaves a heartache no one can heal
our love for dad will leave a memory no one can steal
We celebrate the life of our papa as we say good bye to his mortal coil. Pandurangam Muthyala or Pandu was born in June of 1940. Throughout his life he revered education and he instilled that in his 4 children. He believed that it was the ticket to a successful and productive life. From a humble background he pursued a career in engineering which would take him from Hyderabad India to Bozeman Montana where he pursued his Masters and then to Chicago, Illinois. In Chicago with menaka, his wife of more than 50 yearshe raised 4 children. Life would take him briefly back to India, to the Bay Area, to Chula Vista, to Carlsbad to Irvine and finally to Laguna niguel. Along the way he saw 2 of his children - Anita and Ramana graduate from medical school and 2 children - Sunita and Vasu graduate from law school. He gained 2 sons in law vittal and navneet , 2 daughters in law Cynthia and Madhuri and 8 grandchildren- Sameer, Krishna, Arjun, Nikita, zahra, Surya, Imani and shivani
Pandu was devoted to his religious work and ISKCON, he inspired in his children and grandchildren a strong foundation in religious life. He followed a healthy life style, working out and for the most part eating healthy. Pandu won a hard fought and brutal battle against cancer in his early 50s right after the birth of his first grandchild. The battle took a heavy toll on his body but he persevered and lived to see seven more grandchildren and three of them graduate from college. He lived a full life - with his wife Menaka - he loved to travel, eat good food, spend time with his family...and counsel them ... even if they didn't want it. It was his way of looking out for those he loved - and those he loved realize now more that ever that we were very lucky for that.
Pandu passed away this Sunday July 7 after a brave and brutal 4 month battle with a second bout of cancer
We will remember Pandu for his fighting spirit, for his strength in the most difficult of times, for his courage in starting a new life in a new country with four children, and for his love for his wife of 53 years.
He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
