Obituary

Patricia Elaine Concepcion, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2025, in El Toro, California. Born on September 21, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, to Pacifico Gonzales Concepcion and Patricia Aguirre Concepcion, she was their cherished only child.

Patricia married James Becker on June 19, 1963, and they divorced in 1973. She attended Saint Joseph School and Holy Cross in Los Angeles through eighth grade, then graduated from Saint Mary's Academy High School. Patricia earned her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from Mount Saint Mary's in Los Angeles and later, while raising her five children with the support of her mother, lovingly called Graddie by her grandchildren, she earned a Master of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific College on August 11, 1978.

Fluent in Spanish, Patricia served as a school nurse for 35 years in the Anaheim School District, Santa Ana Health Department, and Saddleback School District, before retiring from the guidance center at Edison High School in the Huntington Beach School District, where she was honored as 'Super Nurse' for her dedicated service.  She was always fun, happy to be around, with a laugh that lit up hearts.  An excellent listener, she cared deeply, soaking in every detail of your story.  As a great advisor, she stood by your side, kind and loving, her faith in you unshakable, saying you could do anything you put your heart into.  Her gift for spreading joy left a smile on every face she met.

Patricia loved reading Clive Cussler novels, watching movies such as the Hallmark classics, Hollywood classic musical films, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, and traveling wherever invited. A deeply charitable woman, she donated monthly to Catholic charities nationwide, holding a special fondness for the missionaries and the Association of the Miraculous Medal, and faithfully attended Sunday Mass at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. A passionate supporter of President Trump, Patricia believed in making America great again, visited the Capitol during his first presidency, and made generous donations to her political affiliation and local communities.

She is survived by her five children:  Michael, Christina, Timothy, Michelle, Gabriel, and his wife, Thelma; seven grandchildren, Jake, Kelli, Leonardo, Juliana, Lila, Emma, and Dylan; one great-grandchild, Kaiden; and her beloved dog, Ginger.

A rosary service will be held at McCormick & Son Mortuaries, 25002 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, on Friday, September 5th at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 24252 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 A.M., with a reception to follow at Olive Garden, 24256 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods.

Memorial donations or flowers can be sent to McCormick & Son Mortuaries, and all donations will be made in honor of Patricia E. Concepcion for Masses to the Association of the Miraculous Medal, 1811 West Saint Joseph Street, Perryville, Missouri, 63775-1598 or Sacred Heart Southern Missions, 6050 Highway 161, Walls, Mississippi, 38686.

With love, honor, and gratitude to our mom.  We will miss you always and cherish every moment we were able to spend with you.

Rest in peace.
