IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick Thomas
Hunt
September 19, 1949 – May 15, 2023
Patrick Thomas Hunt, M.D., 73, beloved father, husband, and gifted physician passed away on May 15, 2023. His death leaves a profound loss, not only to his family and friends, but also the countless lives he touched through his medical practice, his creative pursuits, and his innate ability to bring laughter and joy to every situation.
Born in 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to Thomas and Maryland (Brante) Hunt, Dr. Hunt's career spanned over five decades wherein he was renowned for not only his skill as a Radiologist but for his empathy. He had a knack for making everyone around him feel comfortable, often using his quick wit and humor to lighten the mood even in the most challenging of times. He continually sought to humanize the world of medicine through several projects related to bedside manner, which reflects his unending dedication to others. Finishing his career at the Orange Coast Medical Breast Center and Saddleback Medical Breast Center, he worked as long as he could to provide his light to those who worked with him and received his medical expertise.
Patrick's life outside of medicine was just as vibrant as his professional one. He was a man of many talents and interests. With an extraordinary passion for music, screenwriting, and technology, he composed a number of songs used on television shows. His screenplays were testaments to his creativity, keen understanding of the human condition, and his love for storytelling. His creative spirit wasn't limited to music and writing, as he founded a flight simulation company: the cutting-edge software developed was eventually adapted for use by the U.S. Forest Service for fighting wildfires in California, which still plays a vital role in wildfire management today.
However, nothing brought Patrick more joy than his family. His wife and three sons were the center of his universe. He had a special way of making every day feel like an adventure. His love for them was palpable and unending. His stories, filled with wisdom and humor, will continue to inspire and guide his sons. His love for his wife was the stuff of fairy tales, and a testament to what he believed was the bedrock of any relationship: love, kindness, and shared laughter.
Patrick was a man who wore many hats – a dedicated radiologist, a creative artist, a loving father and husband, and a self-proclaimed goofball. But above all else, he was a man who believed in the power of laughter, love, and dreams. His infectious smile, his captivating stories, and his hearty laughter will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Denise and his three sons: Theodore, Timothy, and David.
