Philip Maitland-Kraft passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. He is survived by his loving children Hilary Maitland-Kraft and Justine Holberg (and their mother Merrill Stanton), son-in-law Robert Holberg, and grandpets Dixie and Cookie. He had a deep love for his family and was an incredible father who always encouraged his children to discover their talents and use them. He will be dearly missed.
Philip was born June 8, 1948 in London, England to parents Seymour and Anne. He graduated from Boston University and lived all over the world, most recently California.
He was the founder of The Aromatherapy Institute and creator of Lamborghini and Zarolia fragrances, Tattoos-To-Go, Aroma Trim, Vodka O2, and many other innovative products. He moved from an award-winning career in advertising and photography to developing and marketing his own products. Philip worked with model Twiggy and designer Vivienne Westwood, sold his temporary tattoos at Harrods London and later world-wide, commissioned artists to design one-of-a-kind jean jackets, produced infomercials, and had his sparkling vodka featured at the Cannes Film Festival. Most recently, he was working on a book series.
When he wasn't busy with his projects, Philip enjoyed photography, travel, art, gardening and exploring the Laguna Beach area with his daughters and their dogs. Also, he had a passion for Southwestern design and enjoyed taking trips to Santa Fe, New Mexico to discover art and furnishings.
Philip was creative, charming and loving, and we loved him so very much. He will always inspire us and be forever in our hearts.
