Phyllis Irene Davy, née Dowell, 92, of Dana Point California, passed away on July 3, 2018 in her home after a brave battle with lymphoma.Born to Eleanor and Harvey Dowell on April 13, 1926, Phyllis had one brother, Robert, who passed in 2004. Phyllis met future husband Jim Davy (passed 2007) while attending UCLA and they married February of 1950.

Phyllis graduated from Dorsey High School, Los Angeles, CA and studied art at UCLA.Out of college, Phyllis worked for Arts And Architecture magazine, and was a Kindergarten teacher in La Jolla when Jim was stationed there while in the Navy. After residing in Canoga Park and La Mirada, in 1964 Phyllis and Jim moved to Lafayette, CA with their three children. She enjoyed her volunteer work for the American Cancer Society, the PTA, Girl Scouts, and her children's school activities.Phyllis loved all forms of the arts including a passion for big band music in college and jitterbugging at dances. Phyllis became an avid tennis player, a great cook, and was fiercely competitive at bridge. She applied her creative energies to flower and home design, and studied Interior Design in New York City while living there from 1979-1983.

Phyllis's greatest joy in life was her friends and family, who she entertained greatly with her legendary sense of humor. She is survived by sons Jim (Anita), and Jeff, daughter Janet (Dennis Drake), grandchildren Kimberly (Pavan Daryanani), Laura (Will Stevens), Colin, Caitlin, Chase, Taylor, Ian, Cameron and great-grandson Suneil.
