Obituary

Quentin K. Frederick, also known as "Kay" and "Brother Freddy", beloved husband, father, grandfather, and successful business owner, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at the age of 80 in Mission Viejo, California.

Born on January 8, 1944, in Logan, Utah, to Quentin and Bernice Frederick, Quentin was the oldest of four siblings. He is predeceased by his brothers Glade and Cornell and is survived by his brother Craig. Quentin was lucky enough to meet the catch of his life early on and married Marianne Newman Frederick, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and partnership.

Early in life, Quentin answered the call to serve, embarking on an LDS mission in England, where he touched many lives and formed lifelong connections. Later, he served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War, exemplifying courage and dedication.

A proud and driven entrepreneur, Quentin went on to manage and own multiple Del Taco restaurants in Arizona and California, where his commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on his employees and patrons alike. Outside of work, Quentin found joy in fishing, racquetball, collecting, and puzzles. However, his greatest love was his faith and his dedication to teaching and inspiring the youth of his church. Whether teaching seminary, coaching softball, or setting an example through his actions, Quentin cherished his role as a mentor and positive influence, impacting countless young lives.

Quentin is survived by his beloved wife Marianne, his three children: Michelle, Jon and daughter-in-law Laura, and Danielle and son-in-law David. His legacy is also carried forward by his cherished grandsons, Justin, Joshua, and Jeremy, whom he adored and always encouraged to pursue their dreams.

Quentin's warmth, integrity, and unwavering support for those he loved will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His spirit and memory will remain a source of strength and inspiration for his loved ones, now and always.

A celebration of Quentin's life will begin with a viewing at Altisima LDS Church in Rancho Santa Margarita at 10:00 am, chapel service at 11:00 am, followed by a military burial service at 1:30 pm at El Toro Memorial Park Cemetery. Services will also be available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
