Randall Lee
Windle
December 4, 1962 – May 29, 2024
Randall "Randy" Lee Windle, born in Jackson, Michigan December 4, 1962 passed away on May 29th in Laguna Beach California. Randy was 61 years old and had fought a brave 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.
It was Randy's dream since childhood to live in California by the ocean, and he moved west in 1982. In 1987 Randy graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor's degree in Finance.
In 2004 Randy married the love of his life, Margarita "Meg" Hewins, and they resided in Laguna Niguel.
Randy was an extremely unique renaissance man in a modern era. I've never meet anyone like him and I never will again. I'll miss him for the rest of my life.
He had such a diverse background and areas of interest. He was extremely intellectual , mechanical, artistic, a sculpture, writer, editor, hiker, free diver, snorkeler, skier, boogie boarder, mountain biker, adventurer, sci-fi enthusiast , excellent cook, enjoyed a eclectic range of music from Devo to classical opera, was fascinated by physics, Astro physics, history, art, efficiency and manufacturing processes, could build or fix anything you could imagine, installed our home wood floors, loved our cats, expert at technology and troubleshooting things for everyone, tutored multiple people through GED's to college degrees to get their educations completed, championed people who needed a friend by their side and a boost in their confidence and walked hand and hand till people could grow independently into the next phase of their lives, and most importantly loved his cherished friends and family.
Randy was the calm honest voice of reason in a world of chaos and a safe place for friends and family to share their biggest concerns and walk them through so they felt assured things would be good in the end. He had an incredible ability to articulate complex concepts in a way anyone could understand them and set people on their own path with confidence.
His careers were Project Manager for IT , software implementations and an efficiency expert. He despised corporate greed and bureaucracy.
Randy had a ravenous appetite for knowledge and anyone around him grew by knowing him. He had the most engaging and warm personality of anyone I knew. He knew no stranger and made everyone's day better with his clever wit & humor. When he complimented you- you knew it was sincere. He saw into your soul with an uncanny ability to help you find your own answers.
He is survived by his fierce wife - Meg Hewins, his cherished brother - Terry Windle who helped his journey back to God, sister in-law Jaime Windle and his nieces - Sarah Windle and Autumn Hildebrand, and his nephews - Banks Windle and Taylor Hildebrand.
His legacy lies in his pure soul and lives in his friends and family forever.
