Ricardo Sotelo, born November 19 ^th , 1969, in Mexico City, Mexico passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, January 10 ^th , 2023, in Mission Viejo, California. Ricardo was lovingly known as "Guicho" to his family in Mexico and childhood friends, Ricky to his wife, and dad to his children. Born to Tomas Sotelo and Gricelda Santamaria, Ricardo has seven siblings Jorge, Beto, Veronica, Anabel, Sandra, Marcelo, and Yanet "Yeny". Ricardo was the third oldest of the eight children line up.

Ricardo moved from Mexico to California in 1991 with his childhood and lifetime best friend, Sergio Rios.

Ricardo completed his undergrad in Mexico City, and after moving to California, he completed his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Ricardo and Maria Cristina Sotelo married in Temecula, California on June 30 ^th , 2012. Ricardo was Maria Cristina's favorite dance partner. Ricardo leaves behind his three children, Daniel age 26, Isabel age 10 and Lucas age 8.

Ricardo worked for Providence St. Joseph Healthcare from 2002 to 2022. Ricardo took great pride in his team, celebrating his staff, and he enjoyed coordinating festive events with his staff and coworkers. Ricardo enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, going on hikes, playing racquetball, sailing with friends and hosting gatherings at home.

Throughout his childhood, Ricardo enjoyed roller skating. The past summer, after his daughter Isabel learned how to skate, Ricardo decided to put on some skates after years of not skating and accompanying Isabel to the roller rink where they had a ball.

Ricardo's passion was traveling and exploring new areas with his loved ones. Ricardo's greatest love was spending time with his three children. He was protective of his children and prideful of all their milestones.

Ricardo will be remembered as a loyal friend, a goofy, happy, and friendly person. He had a bleeding heart to help others in times of need. Every time Ricardo passed someone in the street asking for spare change, Ricardo main it a point to pull over and offer money.
