Richard John Klucas, 81, from Mission Viejo, CA died on July 31, 2019.

He was born in Willmar, Minnesota. After graduation from Willmar High School and a stint in the Navy, he headed west to southern California where he joined the Glaziers and Glassworkers LU 636 beginning his career at Imperial Glass Company in Beverly Hills. Over the years he worked for several glass companies in the LA and Orange County. He took early retirement at 55 from Center Glass Company in Laguna Beach. Then he began, with his wife, Martha (Gillaspie) Klucas, to explore the United States, visiting each of the fifty states and most of the national parks. Serendipity often happened when he would take a quick turn unto an unplanned route and discover a whole new adventure.

He is survived by Martha, his wife of 60 years and five children: Mary Bergstrom from Placentia, CA, Karen Klucas from Alexandria, Alabama, Patricia (Trish) Lasher from Lake Forest, CA, Douglas Klucas from Mission Viejo, and Colin Klucas and his wife Linette from Mission Viejo. A son, Michael Klucas, preceded him in death in 1983. He is also survived by his brother, Clarence (Kelly) Klucas from Willmar, MN, his sister, Mary Klucas Sullivan from Coon Rapids, MN, as well as eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many neices, nephews, and cousins.

A "celebration of life" will be held Sunday, August 11 at 2pm at MccCormick and Son, Laguna Hills.
