Richard Kollar was born on September 13, 1940 and passed away on February 8, 2016 at the age of 75 in Whittier, California. He is survived by his beloved wife, Argentina, and son, Robert; as well as his sister, Carmella Wells, of Eugene, Oregon.
Richard was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to his parents, Dorothy and Joseph Kollar. He grew up in Westlake, Ohio, and entered the Air Force on March 13, 1961. He spent the next four years serving his country as a member of the Tactical Air Command, stationed in Germany. After he was honorably discharged on March 12, 1965, he moved to Whittier, California to join his mother, father and sister.
Richard started working at the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles on January 2, 1968, where he continued to work, until he retired on November 1, 1994, at age 58. It was in the summer of 1974, that a new employee joined his department; a woman with whom he would spend the rest of his life. He and Argentina were married on September 6, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They returned to Whittier, California, where they spent the next 40 years side by side, where they made their home and raised their only son, Robert, whom Richard adopted in 1980.
