Rick Paul Hammons, 59, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home in Laguna Woods, California. Rick was born on January 31, 1955 to Grace and Richard Hammons in Dearborn, Michigan. He attended Valencia High School, where he was an athlete, and then Fullerton College. On June 11, 1983 he married Debi Hammons in Garden Grove, California. Together, they had two children, Kevin and Kara. Rick spent most of life working in the freight industry in sales. He loved fishing, cooking, golfing, comedy, a good burger, and spending time with his family.

Rick made a positive impression on all he came into contact with. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, good nature, and sense of humor. A born storyteller, he had the uncanny ability of making anyone laugh.

Rick is survived by his mother, Grace Hammons, his wife, Debi Hammons; son Kevin and son's fiancée Christen Olivarez; daughter Kara and daughter's fiancé Jim Ricottone; brother Mark Hammons and sister Sue Gehrls; five nieces and nine nephews; and his dogs. Tobey and Riley.

A potluck memorial service will be will be held this Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 3-6 p.m. in Laguna Woods Village at 23822 Avenida Sevilla (Clubhouse 3) in Dining Room 1.
