IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robbin Ann
Matthews
August 3, 1964 – May 19, 2022
With heavy hearts and tearful eyes, we say goodbye to our sweet Robbin. She died at home surrounded by her loving family after a long fight with breast cancer.
She was born in Whittier, California to parents Joel and Sally (Broding) Matthews; the eldest of two daughters. She was preceded in death by her father Joel, Aunt Wanda Varner, Uncle John and Aunt D'Ann Broding. She is survived by her mother Sally and Stepfather Robert Archer, sister Kimberly and husband Brian Sanchez, nephew Ryan Sanchez, niece Taylor Sanchez, cousins Renee Barker, Yvonne Linder, Lisa Hooper, and large families in California and South Dakota. She was previously married for 14 years to Steven B. Lee, and she always considered him a friend.
Robbin grew up in Placentia, CA and attended Valencia High School, where she was a proud Tiger of the class of 1982. She was active in student council and cheerleading. During those years, her favorite places to be were at the family getaway on the Colorado River or on the ski slopes at Mammoth Mountain. She was an avid snow and water skier. In her early twenties, she worked with persons with disabilities. Later she volunteered with the Adaptive Ski Unit in Southern California. Robbin was born with Wilson's Disease, and was blessed with the gift of life with a liver transplant in 1995.
Robbin's profession and natural gift was as a massage therapist, and many consider her a healer. She was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), where she was the Unit President of Orange County and the Representative for Southern California. She was highly sought-after and she massaged several professional athletes in the area. Robbin volunteered her time as a therapist for Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton.
Her other passion was gardening, where she could not only make any plant thrive, but would be upset if they were not cared for properly. She enjoyed riding her bicycle on the beach or in town. She was creative, and in her spare time she loved to draw and paint.
