Robert Allen Leonard, known as Bob to most, died at 90 years of age on December 30, 2021, in Lake Forest, from congestive heart failure.
He was born on September 05, 1931, in Auburn California to Enola and Leo Leonard. He graduated from Glendale High School, followed by US Navy Meteorology School, Flight school and many years of specialized training on more than 40 different aircrafts. Bob earned many certificates from the FAA for being an expert in Crash site investigations. He was a certified instructor to train pilots and test them for FAA and British Flight Safety standards, among other things. He worked internationally for several airlines including Bahamas Air, Air Botswana and others. He was also a bush pilot in Alaska and flew the Islands of the Bahamas in specialty water/aircraft, and flew on the Amazon River, in addition to his many years flying Presidents of countries, CEO's and dignitaries in the corporate world.
He traveled and moved numerous times he resided in the following states and countries: Auburn, CA; Sacramento, CA. Glendale, CA; Honolulu, HI; Midway Island; Oxnard, CA; Kodiak, AK; Nassau, Bahamas; Miami, FL; Iquitos, Peru; Houston, TX; Pearland, TX; Johannesburg, South Africa; Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa; Pinetown, South Africa; Gaborone, Botswana; Salinas, CA; Turlock, CA; and Lake Forest, CA.
When Bob wasn't flying, he enjoyed the following pastime activities: Cribbage Champion, building model airplanes and flying them, writing his memoirs of volumes of fascinating stories of his flying around the world and his life experiences. Provided lifelong service in Baha'i communities worldwide.
He is survived by his children: Kristine & Dennis Young; Cindy & Payam Adlparvar; Alethe & Ryan Denis, Richard Burgess, Jonathan & Thahn Burgess, Kamran & Mona Adlparvar, Nura & Christopher Lawson-Adlparvar; Brandon Denis, Derek Denis, Gavin Denis, Audrey Denis, Aram Adlparvar, Liam Adlparvar; The Allen Family of cousins from around the world.
He is predeceased by his lovely Wife Karin in 2000 and Grandson Aram in 2007.
