Roberto L. Sia, born August 2nd, 1930 in La Carlota, Philippines, passed peacefully on Tuesday evening, September 26th, 2023 in his Newport Coast, California home.  He is survived by his wife, Felicitas, and children Rey, Ann, and Gil, and his grandchildren Zachary, Isabel, and Skyler.

Born to Carlos and Consolasion Sia, he had nine siblings Rodrigo, Arnaldo, Teresa, and Ann who have passed. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Teofilo, Linda, Victoria, Nilo, and Medardo Sia. Among them, his nickname was 'Toto'.

Roberto met his wife, Fe in 1955 during their employment together at a pharmaceutical company in the Philippines.  They were married on September 20th, 1961 and recently celebrated their 61-year wedding anniversary.

Roberto moved from the Philippines to New Jersey in 1969 with his wife and children. He started his career as a chemical engineer. Later, he attended evening classes to get a degree allowing him to become a packaging engineer.  He retired from the pharmaceutical company, Schering Plough (Merck), where he was employed for over 20 years.

Roberto's pride and joy were his grandchildren.  To them, he was lovingly known as 'Lolo'. He wanted them to be successful and got his wish. The granddaughters are on their way to earning their medical degrees while his grandson is earning a Ph.D.

Roberto will be remembered for his gentle, mild mannered, and soft-spoken personality. He was also very giving and sacrificed his comfort and needs in order to help others. He will be missed by all who knew him.
