Ms. Robinette McCabe, 88, died in Laguna Woods at an assisted living facility after a four year struggle with Parkinson's. Funeral services were held on February 02, 2015 at St. Catherine's of Sienna in Laguna Beach and at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Mrs. McCabe, the former Robinette Elizabeth Moss was born on September 16, 1926 in Danbury, Iowa. At 16, Robinette moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked as an Assistant Nurse in a tuberculous ward at St. Anthony's Hospital. She met Earl Francis McCabe at Mass one Sunday in Denver. They were married on November 24, 1944.
Robinette had a very accomplished career as a technical writer, teacher and Human Resource professional. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1963. The following year she earned her Master's in Industrial Psychology and her Teaching Credential. Both degrees were from San Jose State College.
Robinette worked for the Federal government for over 30 years, with her last position being Director of Compensation for the Western Region of the Federal Aviation Agency. In addition she taught Psychology, Sociology and Statistics at Marymount College and at El Camino Community College. She retired from the Federal Government at 65, and from teaching at 72.
Mrs. McCabe is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Ann Nemeth and Julie Elizabeth McCabe, and by her one Grandchild, Mark Andrew Nemeth.
