Romeo Tadena Hebron, born February 4, 1948, passed peacefully on May 14, 2019 in Sherman Oaks, CA.Romy, as he was more commonly known, was surrounded by family at the time of his passing. Born to Luz and Ricardo Hebron in Candelaria, Zambales, Philippines, Romy moved to Guam in 1967. It was here where he met the love of his life, Angelina. The two were married in 1972 and lived in Guam with their three sons, Alexis, Rodney, and Romeo Jr. until moving to Lompoc, CA in 1986.
A few months after the birth of his third son, Romy graduated from the University of Guam with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. This was one of his proudest achievements since he made prior attempts to earn his degree but had to prioritize working in order to support his new family. After moving to California, Romy worked different jobs for a few years until he was hired with the United States Postal Service, where he worked in various capacities for over 20 years until retiring in 2011.
Romy is survived by his wife, his three sons, daughters in-law, Sony, Suzi, and Theresa, and his grandchildren, Hope, Morgan, and Irie. Romy is the eldest of six siblings: Andres Hebron (passed), Delia Lehr, Genaro Hebron, Marites McColgan, and William Hebron.
Romy enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones, whether it was through barbecuing, singing karaoke, or telling jokes and laughing late into the night. He had the ability to walk into a room full of strangers and cultivate long lasting friendships for years to come. In recent years, he found joy and inspiration through his three granddaughters, who affectionately called him Papu or "Pops". He could be found spoiling them all the time because "that's what grandparents are supposed to do." When not playing with his grandkids, Romy was cheering on his beloved Lakers and Dodgers.
Romeo Tadena Hebron always put others, especially family, before himself. He is well loved and respected and will be missed by many.
The viewing and service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Angeleno Mortuary: 5948 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91401
