Obituary

Ronald Frederick Brumm (Ron), born April 9, 1937 in Hammond, IN passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 with his loving wife Jean by his side.  He had been living in Laguna Woods, CA up until his recent illness.  Born to Harriett and Walter Brumm, Ron had one sibling, Bill Brumm (passed).  Ron lived in Munster, IN and attended Hammond High School where he met the love of his life, Jean Ann Goodson.  Ron and Jean were married on New Year's Eve in 1957. He is survived by his wife, Jean and their three children; Jim, Joy and Jackie.

Ron was proud of his children and their families and loved being surrounded by his four granddaughters: Jim (Becky) with Amanda and Meagan, Joy (Mike Olsen) with Breona and Jackie (Neil Rhodes) with Samantha. He was extremely close with his in-laws Bob and Barbara Goodson and Marcia and Don Simonis.

Ron was happiest when involved in his families' activities whether it be sporting events, vacations or just a simple family dinner.  Conversations revolved around swimming, college sports and more recently Formula 1 racing.

Ron worked for the family business, Brumm Distributing, starting in high school until moving his family to Santa Ana, CA in 1963.  There he joined his father-in-law Howard Goodson at Southern California Edison Division Maintenance working as an apprentice machinist.  In 1968 he moved his family back to Indiana where he became part owner of the family business, Brumm Distributing, one of the largest beer and wine distributors in the state of Indiana.  He remained a partner until the business was sold in 1989.

Ron and Jean moved back to California in 1989 where they have called home ever since, living in Murrieta, Cypress, Lake Forest and Laguna Woods.  In his retirement he worked at both Target and Rite Aid where he loved socializing with customers and his co-workers. He loved traveling, especially to Hawaii and attending as many college football games and swim meets as he could make. Ron and Jean had annual passes to Disneyland for many years which they enjoyed both by themselves as well as with their granddaughters.

Ron was a caring family man, had an outgoing personality and made friends with everyone.  He enjoyed life.
