Today, we celebrate the life of Ronald K. Gibbs (Ron). A great, charitable, hard-working man who touched the lives of many.

Ron was born in the small town of Chester, West Virginia to Kenneth & Sue Gibbs. Located in the northern panhandle of WV, Ron was surrounded by countless Aunts/Uncles, cousins, and friends. Whether fishing in the Ohio River, visiting the well-known Rock Springs Park, or playing football for Chester's "Mighty Mice", Ron had a very happy childhood.

After graduating from Chester High School, Ron moved to Morgantown to attend West Virginia University. It was there that he met his soulmate for life-Carol Louise Crawford. They were a match made in Heaven. Inseparable, they married and remained together for 57 blessed years.

Ron's career led him to the Christian Industries of Fleming H. Revelle, Word, and Moody Bible Institute. His job forced him to move many times, but he & his family settled in Southern California and remained for 40+ years.

Though from humble beginnings, Ron led a wonderful life. He was proud that he visited & experienced all 50 U.S. States. Dog-sledding in Alaska, horseback riding in Yellowstone, or crash landing a glider in an Ohio cornfield with his brother Gary were just some of Ron's adventures.

But, it was family that mattered most to Ron. He is survived by his wife (Carol), 3 sons (Jeffrey, Stephen & Daniel), 3 daughter-in-laws (Cheryl, Jolene & Ally), 5 Grandkids (Ronnie, Samantha, Peter, Maggie & Andrew) and hundreds of friends from across the globe.

A true Mountanier, Ron will return to Chester to be buried at Locust Hill Cemetary. Though he left long ago, his spirit & love for this town never left. RIP. Surely, he is watching us all from up above.
