She moved to California in the early 1950's and it was in the San Luis Rey Valley that she and Mario started their long, happy life together. They raised their family in the Catholic faith loving their God, their family and their neighbors. She volunteered at her daughter's schools, Academy of the Little Flower, San Luis Rey Mission, St. Francis, and St. Patrick. Rose Mary didn't know a stranger and didn't know how to say no to any request. She was energetic, positive and the kindest person you could ever meet. She was talented and gifted in so many ways. Without hesitation, she served on many committees whether it be decorating for a mardi gras, sewing children's costumes for plays and pageants, cooking hot lunch, planning a parade, or throwing the perfect birthday party. She was a cake-baking blue ribbon winner, a Room Mother, Camp Fire Girl Leader, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Republican. Rose Mary was a talented artist. Throughout her life she enjoyed ceramics, china painting, pot throwing, sculpting, pastels, acrylics and oils. She was a brave and strong women who loved life, embracing every minute. Most of all she taught her family and others to love unconditionally.
