Roy Taylor Obituary
Roy Elwood Taylor passed away on January 20, 2021. He was 93 years old and died of natural causes. Roy was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, June Synhorst Taylor. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Taylor, of Des Moines, Iowa, daughters Steffanie Roche (Robert) of Granite Bay, CA and Andrea Taylor (Dan Manley) of Lake Forest, CA. Roy leaves behind his grandchildren Lauren Cooper, Michael Roche, and Joshua Manley, and his great-grandchildren William and Julia Cooper.
Roy was born on February 10, 1927 in Des Moines. He attended East High School. Roy joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, and served on the destroyer "USS Gyatt" in the North Atlantic. After his honorable discharge, Roy graduated from Drake University with a business degree. For more than 30 years, Roy had a successful career in the furniture business as a manufacturer's representative.
Roy was a family man who enjoyed golf and a cold beer.After his retirement he and his wife moved to Peoria, AZ where they lived for 24 years.In 2013 they moved to Southern California to be closer to family.
Roy will be missed by his entire family and will never be forgotten.
