It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, and lifetime innovator in agricultural processing. Salim Mohammad Ashaq, left this world on October 15th, 2023 in Irvine, California. He was born on October 5th, 1938, in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Salim's life was a testament to hard work, resilience, and unwavering love for his family. He dedicated countless years to the noble profession of agriculture, sowing the seeds of sustenance while creating innovative processes in the pistachio industry.

As a husband and father, Salim was the anchor of his family, providing unwavering support, guidance, and an abundance of love. His warm smile and kind words were a source of comfort to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and life lessons that will be forever treasured by those who were fortunate to have shared their lives with him.

He is survived by his wife, Tirina Ashaq, daughters Laila and Fatima Ashaq, sons Yusuf Omar and Salomen Hasib Ashaq, son-in-laws Omar Shah Harouny and Mohammad Sekik, and grandchildren Elias Shah Harouny, and Camila and Salim Sekik.

Salim's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.

The burial and Janazah prayers will be held at Greater Sacramento Muslim Cemetery on Friday, October 20th, 2023 at 2:30pm. The address is 6330 Eagles Nest Road, Sacramento, CA 95830.

There will be a funeral reception and prayers immediately following the burial at Sunrise Banquet Center at 4:30pm. The address is 11167 Trade Center Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670.
