Samir Bechara Saade, born November 1, 1936 in Mreijeh Lebanon, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in his Southern California home. Samir was lovingly known as hayate to his wife, papa to his children, and Jeddou to his grandkids. Born to Bechara and Edma Saade, he has 6 siblings Wadad (passed), Souad (passed), Khalil (passed), Adele (passed), Nabil
(passed), and Boutros. He was an entrepreneur with businesses in Lebanon and Canada before moving to California in 2008 with the love of his life Eva to be near his daughters and grandchildren. Samir and Eva were married in 1968 and have three beautiful children Samar(married to Bradley Needham), Samer, and Sally (married to Ricardo Perez).
Samir's pride and joy were his family, his wife Eva was his first and only love, he would doanything for her. His signature cappuccino for her and a bowl of fruits in the evenings. His children whom he adored and flaunted to the world – Samar, who he insisted on everyone calling doctor; Samer, who he respected and listened to, the voice of reason he said; and his baby Sally, always showing off her success and her business empire. Last but certainly not least his three grandchildren, without them he said, he was not complete. Jordan and Duncan (daughter and son of Samar) and Noah (son of Sally) were his life. Whatever they wanted, he did. Cooking their favorite foods, baking their favorite deserts, dressing up as a fairy just to see them smile. To Samir, living was for his family.
One cannot forget the impact he had on the rest of his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He treated them all like his own. Loved them all equally and was always there for them.
To summarize Samir is to use the words of Bruce Spurr (nephew) -
"King of mannoushe, divine drinker of daily coke, always has the freshest
best grapes, deal finder extraordinaire, RAVA pilot, Eva whisperer, unabashed return back'er, never mincedwords, sweetest grandfather".
