Obituary

Samuel Tan Hadinata passed away at the age of 65. He was a resident of Mission Viejo, CA. He is survived by his wife Alina Hadinata, his two sons Daniel and Nathan, mother Elisabeth Hadinata, and his sisters Christina Chi, Janny Morelle, and Dewi Wong.

Sam was the son of the late Daniel Tan Hadinata.

He was born on January 1st, 1950, in Semarang, Indonesia.

In Düsseldorf, Germany, he studied Architecture, with a focus in Residential Buildings and a minor in Furniture and Product Design in Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences). In 1977, he was granted a Diplom Ingeneur (Master of Applied Engineering Degree).

He had a passion for design, religion, culture, and history. A hard working perfectionist, he started a cabinet manufacturing business in California that provided for his family. He was a very caring father and always supportive of his kids in whatever they did. He was a member of Saddleback Church since 1986. There he served as an usher and went on a PEACE mission trip in Bali, Indonesia. In his last days, he never stopped working towards designing affordable housing for the poor.

A Memorial Service is planned for May 2 at 10:30AM at Saddleback Church's Plaza Room in Lake Forest, CA.

Show me your ways, O LORD,

teach me your paths;

guide me in your truth and teach me,

for you are God my Savior,

and my hope is in you all day long.

Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love,

for they are from of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth

and my rebellious ways;

according to your love remember me,

for you are good, O LORD.

Good and upright is the LORD;

therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

He guides the humble in what is right

and teaches them his way.

All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful

for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Psalm 25 (Bible verse was chosen from an email Samuel sent to encourage a friend.)
