Sherry gave birth to two children, but was a mom to dozens of their friends and AFS foreign exchange students from all over the world. While attending Fort Madison High School in Iowa, Sherry spent a year in New Zealand which is what sparked her lifelong love and relationship with AFS Intercultural Programs.Sherry first became an AFS mom in 1986 and her legacy continues today as she is survived by many of her adoring AFS children.

Sherry's greatest pleasures in life were reading, traveling, gardening, and attending plays & concerts, but most of all being a mom and grandmother to her children, two grandchildren and two cats, Max and Luigi who have now been adopted by Brad and Celina.
