Sidney (Sid) Dechter, born May 22, 1929, passed away September 4, 2013 at age 84, in his home in Lake Forest, CA. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Katherine (Peil) Dechter; five children, eight grandchildren, and two great grand-daughters; as well as many life long friends.

Sid was born and lived in Chicago, IL until 2012 when he moved to California to spend his retirement in the warm sunshine. He was a loving, dedicated family man who enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends.

A celebration of life will take place in Laguna Hills, CA on Saturday, September 7, 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Sid's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN).
