Silvia Emelina Jenkins was born Silvia Emelina Arienza in Havana, Cuba on October 27th, 1941.

She was an only child to Jose Miguel Arienza from Spain and Blanca Rosa Lueiro from Cuba. She grew up playing the piano in Cuba, and loved music.

Silvia was an exceptional student. She had dreams of a career and graduating from college but those plans were disrupted with the political turmoil that arose in Cuba. Silvia married at the age of 19 and emigrated to the United States in 1961.  In Miami, Silvia raised her 4 children. As a single mom, and with the help of her beloved mother, she took a chance and brought her family to California in 1976 for a new beginning.

Silvia loved her garden, loved to shop, loved the slot machines in Las Vegas, loved the ocean, and most of all, loved to gossip.  She grew up with the music of the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck. She loved Julio Iglesias and loved watching tv. She was a resilient soul who would always do what she could for her children. She adored her 3 grandchildren and never forgot a birthday.

Silvia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her 4 children and 3 grandchildren. She will forever be missed, but never forgotten.  Heaven gained a new angel on August 12th, 2023. May she rest in eternal peace.
