Obituary

Stephen Craig Oller was born June 10, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana. He passed into eternal life on November 4, 2017. Stephen cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and Godfather.

Stephen (Steve) was the son of William and Norma Oller and spent his formative years in Orange County, California. He was the eldest son who doted on his brother and sister. He loved to play baseball, go to the beach, and read every book he could get his hands on. Steve was a natural athlete and developed his love for running during his time in the military.
Steve served honorably in the United States Army from 1969 to 1974 and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in Vietnam.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts in Art and Teaching Credential from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).

Steve met Denise, the love of his life, as they both attended CSUF. They married in 1978 and were blessed with twin daughters, Stephani and Marianna "Mia" in 1980. Steve and Denise were eternally grateful for their precious family and the love, faith, joy, laughter, and all God's blessings they shared throughout their 39 years of marriage.

Steve loved his family deeply and unconditionally. Nothing brought him more pride, joy, and happiness than to be with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Steve enjoyed traveling with his family, koumbari, and friends. He relished his role as Papouli to his beloved grandchildren and their vacations together became an annual tradition. He had a passion for art, golf, reading, music, and serving his church.

Steve was a man of strong faith, character, integrity, and humility. He was loving, kind, generous, funny, thoughtful, and selfless. Steve left an indelible mark on his family; he was their rock, idol, and hero. He was a devoted member of Saint Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine, California. His family cherishes his memory and carries forward his love of Christ and his faith with great pride.

His professional career for more than 30 years included art education and executive management in transit operations. Steve was a natural born leader who inspired, developed, and motivated others to follow their dreams and believe in their unique talents and abilities. He was a scholar, teacher, mentor, and artist. When Steve retired, he pursued his God-‐given gifts of illustration and painting. He was inspired by his faith and the breathtaking views he saw on the islands of Greece, and created beautiful paintings with an expertise in watercolor. He was thrilled to have Stephen Oller Art exhibited at the Riverside Art Museum and Art Market, Greek Festivals, and in corporate and private collections worldwide.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his daughters, Mia Oller and Stephani Mrosla (Mark); his grandchildren, Bentley Jason, Kyriaki Felicia, and Hudson Mark Mrosla; his mother, Norma; his sister, Cheryl Upcraft (Greg); his nieces and nephews, and his Goddaughters. He is loved beyond words and will be deeply missed by his family, extended family, and friends. He will live in our hearts forever. May his memory be eternal!
