Stephen Lamond Robinson, born October 10th, 1928 in Salt Lake City Utah, passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loving family, including his beloved wife of 65 years, Marion Adams Robinson, at their home in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018.
Stephen was born to Lamond William (Hap) Robinson, and Jessie Jannetta Knowlton, as the eldest of 5 children. He is survived by his younger brothers: Joseph Clark Robinson (Dee Ann Carling), and David Alden Robinson (Leslie Bell). His deceased siblings are, Richard Knowlton (Gwen Larkins), and JoAnn (Robert Freed, Kumar Chavre).
Marion and Stephen were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on June 5th, 1952. Marion and Steve have three sons, all living, Jeffrey Adams Robinson (Robyn Frasier), Gregory Evans Robinson (Jillair Henrie), and Brent William Robinson (Debra Swallow).
At his passing, his posterity includes his three sons, their wives, grandchildren (12) and great-grandchildren (14, plus one on the way).
Three years following World War II, Stephen was called to serve as a missionary to France, and later in life, along with Marion, served as a senior missionary couple in French speaking Caribbean Islands, including Martinique.
During the Korean Conflict, Stephen graduated from the U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) and completed his military service, at the rank of Lieutenant JG, on the mine sweeper vessel the USS Competent.
Stephen had a life-long passion for learning. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
His career in human resources and business management spanned nearly 40 years, most notably with The Aerospace Corporation, in El Segundo Ca.
Stephen's interests included: French club, backpacking, marathons, and rock art preservation.
