Steve Kwangsok An passed away peacefully at home in Laguna Woods on September 6, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on December 13, 1947, in South Korea, he left this world surrounded by the love of his immediate family, who prayed, held his hands, and worshiped by his side in his final moments.

Steve lived with deep devotion, steady strength, and a sacrificial heart. He served in the Korean Military for seven years as an officer, a chapter of his life he held with great pride. That same sense of duty and commitment shaped the way he cared for those around him throughout his life. He worked diligently to provide for his family and was known as a true jack of all trades, able to solve nearly any problem he encountered, whether it involved plumbing, electrical work, or mending a child’s toy. Through every season of life, he was consistently reliable, a man his loved ones could count on without hesitation.

He also found joy in life’s quieter and more beautiful moments. Steve loved gardening, taking scenic road trips, and appreciating national landmarks and architecture. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, whose presence brought him great happiness. His proudest accomplishments reflected the values that guided his life: becoming an elder, a role that carried even greater responsibility in his love for Jesus; loving his wife unconditionally; and raising a beautiful family that grew to include four grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Chun Yi An, with whom he shared enduring love and faith. He is also survived by his son, Douglas An, and daughter-in-law, Nikki An, and by their daughters, Olivia An and Irene An. He is lovingly remembered as well by his daughter, Monica Lee, and son-in-law, James Lee, and by their daughters, Abigail Lee and Aubrey Lee. The family he built and loved so faithfully stands as a lasting testimony to his care, sacrifice, and unwavering presence.

Those who knew Steve will remember a man of deep love, capable hands, and quiet dependability. His life was marked by service, faith, and a wholehearted commitment to his family. He leaves behind memories of strength, wisdom, and tenderness that will continue to be treasured by all who were blessed to know him.

A Funeral Service will be held on September 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCormick & Son Mortuaries, 25002 Moulton Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92637. A Graveside Service will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630.

고인은 또한 삶의 소박하고 아름다운 순간들에서 큰 기쁨을 찾으셨습니다. 정원을 가꾸는 것을 좋아하셨고, 아름다운 풍경을 따라 자동차 여행을 즐기셨으며, 여러 명소와 건축물을 둘러보는 것을 좋아하셨습니다. 무엇보다도 손주들과 함께하는 시간을 가장 소중히 여기셨고, 손주들은 고인에게 큰 기쁨이었습니다. 고인이 가장 자랑스럽게 여기셨던 삶의 결실에는 그분이 평생 소중히 여긴 가치들이 고스란히 담겨 있습니다. 예수님을 향한 사랑과 더욱 큰 책임감을 품고 교회의 장로가 되신 것, 아내를 조건 없이 한결같이 사랑하신 것, 그리고 네 명의 손주까지 이어진 아름다운 가정을 이루고 키우신 것이었습니다.
