Obituary

Suzanne Stewart Fjeldsted of Lake Forest, California, was surrounded by her loving husband and children as she peacefully passed away December 15, 2014, from a massive Pulmonary Embolism.

A vibrant 74-year-old wife, mother, friend and confidant, Suzanne enriched the lives of all those she met. Her love was unparalleled, as was her welcoming spirit, generous nature and innate ability to see the best in everyone. Yes, absolutely everyone.

She was born in Salt Lake City, UT to DeVon & Elizabeth "Beth" Stewart. Suzanne graduated East High School, then studied at the University of Utah, where she held a variety of positions -- from the Attendant to the Freshman Queen, to student body Historian, to a member of the prestigious Mortar Board honorary society -- eventually graduating with a degree in Business Education, which she later taught at West High School. After taking time to raise four children, Suzanne returned to the workforce taking positions in the financial industry.

Suzanne's academics were complemented by her strong interest in music. Though she learned to play the banjo, her first love was singing, and she did so beautifully. While common for her to sing solos or with The Reflections, she also enjoyed singing in the LDS church choir -- she even played an angelic Mother Abbess in a production of The Sound Of Music. Suzanne passed her love of music to her children and grandchildren whom she took to many performances, the likes of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "The Nutcracker," which was one of her favorites.

Suzanne's affirming and positive impact on the people with whom she came in contact is indisputable. She was somehow able to sooth, encourage, empower and stand as an example to others. Suzanne was not only sweet in disposition, but also made the most delicious confections that instantly put smiles on faces young and old.

Sweet Suzanne is survived by her husband of 25 years, Norman B. Fjeldsted; children Michelle Miner, Monique (Adam) Eliason, Todd (Andrea) Miner, Jennifer (Scott) Hawkins; stepchildren John (Trudy) Fjeldsted, Karen (Scott) McKinley, Matt (Chauntelle) Fjeldsted, Paul (Rose) Fjeldsted, Christa (Neal) Rackleff; 30 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother William D. Stewart and sister Betty L. Draper; and Robert T. Miner, MD, the father of her four children. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister Sharilyn "Shari" Dickson.
