Obituary

Theresa Jeanette Andraszczyk (Wolfe), a remarkable soul, passed peacefully in her sleep next to her husband of 70 years on October 8, 2023.  She was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on February 27,1934 to Henry L. Wolfe and Stella Lowenstein Wolfe. She was the seventh of eleven siblings. When she was two, her family moved to Southern California, a place that became the backdrop to a lifetime of treasured memories.

Theresa, or Terri, attended school at St. Monica's and spent her leisure time singing, dancing, and showcasing her vibrant spirit on Santa Monica Beach. She was an active member of her Catholic congregation, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Melvin J. Andraszczyk. The first time he saw her, she was kneeling in prayer!

Terri and Mel married on July 18, 1953. While both were raised Catholic, early in their marriage they converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they had four children, ten grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren (and still counting!).

Theresa possessed a treasure trove of talents. Her singing voice was enchanting, and her comedic skills were legendary. In her late 20s, she recorded a demo and pursued acting lessons at a Hollywood studio known for its comedic content. In a pivotal moment, she felt a spiritual calling that guided her away from Hollywood's allure. With unwavering determination, she turned down a recording contract and acting lessons to raise her family.

Her greatest gift to her children was her undeniable love for God and her commitment to His commandments. More than anything, she cherished her faith in Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. As a mother, she threw fabulous birthday parties and enjoyed sewing. She fiercely defended her children (occasionally against school administrations), and she was unabashedly herself.

Terri nurtured a great love of genealogy and her French ancestry. She and Melvin served a genealogical mission for their church at the FamilySearch Library in the late 90s.

Terri is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Melvin, and their four children: Joy Andraszczyk Harris (Michael); Jan Andraszczyk Warren (Frank); Mark Andraszczyk (Cathy); and Jill Andraszczyk Rinner (Dennis). Her legacy continues with her 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

We celebrate Theresa's remarkable life and her fierce love for her family and God.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (28291 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Niguel, CA. 92677) on October 28, 2023 at 11:00am. A dedication of the grave will immediately follow at El Toro Memorial Park (25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630).  All are welcome.
