Theresa Amelia Nearhood, 101, of Oceanside, California, passed away at home on August 09, 2018.

Funeral service will be held in Fullerton, Nebraska on August 17, 2018 at 10:30 with Father Fulton of St. Peters Catholic Church officiating.Burial will follow at St.Peters Cemetery, Fullerton, Nebraska.Visitation will be held at Palmer Funeral Home on August 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.Palmer Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.

Theresa was born in Fullerton, Nebraska to August and Eva Wetovick on July 28, 1917.She went to Cedar Rapids High School and graduated in 1935.She taught grades 1 through 8 in District 30 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.She went on to work for the Navy during World War II and later worked in retail.Throughout Theresa's life her grace, beauty, kindness and extraordinary love for her family and faith was constant.Her light will shine for all that loved and knew her forever.

Theresa is survived by her son, Randy Nearhood, and daughter Kathe of Oceanside, California, sister Addie Smith of Omaha, and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Nearhood, son Jed, parents Augustand Eva Wetovick,sisters Lorette Olson, Delphine Whelan, bothers August Wetovick Jr.,Theodore Wetovick, Paul Wetovick, and Dennis Wetovick.
