Thomas John Arnold, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born on September 11,1939, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Thomas was the beloved son of Theodore and Mary Arnold.
Thomas married the love of his life, the beautiful and patient Joyce Barbara Arnold. Together since the tender age of 16, Thomas and Joyce built a lifetime of memories rooted in devotion and unwavering love. Although Joyce preceded him in death in 2014, their bond remained a guiding light for Thomas throughout his life.
Thomas enjoyed a long and successful career, first as a Supervisor at H.J. Heinz Foods and later as a respected Driver at Preston Trucking. His work ethic, leadership, and dedication left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
A man of many passions, Thomas had a lifelong love of classic and new cars, and an enduring affection for animals. Yet nothing captured his heart more deeply than his family. His proudest achievements were his children: Deborah, Lisa, Tracy, and his son and namesake, Thomas John Arnold Jr.
Thomas is survived by sisters, Diane Shannon and Mary Elizabeth Darling; Daughter Deborah Hillman, Son -in- law Richard Hillman.Son Thomas Arnold JR. Daughter -in -law Lisa Arnold.Daughter Lisa Arnold partner Brandon D'Amore and Daughter Tracy Arnold partner Michael Cooper. His grandchildren, Cara Arnold, Keeley Hillman, Thomas John Arnold lll, Cameron Miller, and Samantha Hall; and his great-granddaughter, Ava Rose Miller.
Known for his strong leadership, unshakable work ethic, and deep commitment to his loved ones, Thomas was the cornerstone of his family. He had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need . Many times he would bring home small hurt animals and nurse them back to health.
Though he carried himself with a serious demeanor, those who knew him well were often delighted by his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the family he so deeply cherished.
We will all miss him dearly… May he rest in peace with his loving wife Joyce.
