Travis Tipton Oliver born October 25, 1929 Hollywood, CA, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday January 12, 2018 surrounded by loving family, including his beloved wife of 66 years Bobbie Oliver.
Travis was born to Charles Oliver and Pearl Daily and was one of 2 children along with his brother Charles "Uncle Gay" Oliver (deceased).
Bobbie and Travis were married 66 years ago for time and eternity in San Antonio, Texas where Travis first spotted Bobbie working in a restaurant and from that moment on he knew that he could not live without the woman who would become his wife, confidant and best friend for the rest of his life.
Bobbie and Travis have five children, all living, Rick Manes, Leslie Webb, Terri Duzdevich, Travis Tipton Oliver ll and Kim Vlasis.Travis is survived by not only his children but numerous grandchildren and great –grandchildren who call him "Poppi".
Travis enlisted in the Air Force In 1948 during the Korean conflict along with his best friend Bill Bonus and served stationed in Alaska leaving in 1952 with the rank of Staff Sargent.
Travis who learned to become a draftsman in the Air Force had a life-long passion for architecture and became one of the foremost architects specializing in airport construction.During his career he would be a major influence in the design and building of the Honolulu International Airport, the Chiang Kai-shek International Airport and was one of the only architects ever hired by the United Nations to design the Royal Family Entrances to the airports in the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia.
Bobbie and Travis moved a total of 28 times in their life taking off for wherever the next adventure or assignment would take them and they were able to visit many countries around the world.Travis, would always say that he loved Italy the most especially the romantic times he spent there with Bobbie she made anyplace the most special place in the world.
Travis's interest included: Coin Collecting, Travel, visiting Casinos to play Video Poker, a great meal and mostly spending time with his wife and family.
