Uma moved to London, England in 1969 with her dad and 5 siblings, where she was the introduced to the love of her life, Naresh Chadha. They were engaged within a week and married in one month on November 20, 1971 and moved to Munich, Germany where they lived until December 1972.Then they moved back to London and had their first daughter, Trishna, in 1973. They then moved to Toronto, Canada from 1974 to 1976.In Toronto, their 2nd child, a son, Parath, was born in 1976. Then the family moved back to London from 1977 to 1979.In 1979 the family moved to Mission Viejo, CA where their 2nd daughter, Puja was born in 1980.The family moved to Fairfield, Connecticut in 1985.In 1988 they moved back to London until 1996 at which time they moved back to CA to their current residence in Laguna Hills, CA. Uma worked part time as a home daycare director in Toronto, at Tesco grocery store, as a post office clerk in London, & teacher's aide in a special education classroom in Mission Viejo.More importantly, Uma's selfless full-time role as a homemaker, wife, loving mom, caring grandma, and friend couldn't be surpassed by anyone.

As a young girl, Uma enjoyed playing with her dogs and planting seeds she would find and watching the plants grow. Uma's love for nature continued into adulthood and she had a talented green thumb in the garden. Uma & Naresh took great pride in growing orchids, Tulsi plants, pomegranates, loquats, lemons, chili peppers, corn, and tomatoes in their garden. Uma enjoyed taking short hikes in nature and along the beach and watching turtles lay their eggs. She loved watching hummingbirds visit the flowers in the garden.Uma shared her love of nature with both her children and grandchildren. The grandkids would say, "How does Grandma know the names of all the flowers?!"Uma had a natural, artistic flair for flower arranging. Uma was a chef extraordinaire and she would lovingly make delicious dishes from around the World and always made a surplus to send home with anyone. She shared love by filling everyone's bellies and telling jokes to make others laugh their worries away. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and cooking and baking with the grandkids. As the grandkids grew older she joined them in taking selfies with fun Snapchat filters that were brought to life in crazy pictures. She embraced technology and was savvy in using her iPad and cell phone, sending out texts and Bitmojis to everyone. She enjoyed traveling around the world with Naresh and family, visiting Europe, India, Thailand, Jamaica, Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada to name a few. Uma loved the time spent with friends and family. She was very generous, taught us patience and always led by example, and always spent the gift of time with others which is priceless.Uma's spiritual journey took her through different faiths and along the way she taught us how to be aware that we are the soul, the lessons of karma, and to not be materialistic. She lived a very empathetic life and realized that higher powers always will guide her.
