Valentine Frank Sierzchula was born September 30, 1925 in Lemont, Illinois. He was the youngest of five children born to Jacob and Theresa Sierzchula. As a young man he served in the Navy during World War II. He also attended Newberry College in South Carolina.

He moved to California in 1954 and sent for his hometown sweetheart, Dorothy Lundeen, in 1955. They were married on July 16, 1955 at St. Matthew Church in Long Beach, California. They made their home in Anaheim where they raised their son and daughter. Val enjoyed golf and coaching his son's baseball teams in his free time.

Val and Dorothy moved to Rancho Santa Margarita, CA in 1995 after Val's retirement. They appreciated a pleasant life enlivened by time spent with their granddaughters.

Val passed away at home in Rancho Santa Margarita on October 13, 2013. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Jay (Terri), daughter Valerie (Josh) and by his cherished granddaughters Isabel and Elena.
